Hi, everyone, Though I'm a long-time open source advocate (http://bazaarmodel.net/phorum/read.php?1,1132,1132), I'm actually posting to this group for another reason.
The Scrum Alliance has set aside funding for a "mission" to Nepal in late November of next year. I am pleased to say that I have the go-ahead from Donna Farmer, Managing Director of the Scrum Alliance, to start exploring how best to make this event happen. I propose to offer a Scrum certification course there, in line with the Alliance's mission to change the world of work, world-wide. I have been going into markets that don't attract most Scrum trainers because they are off the beaten path. Past trips have taken me to Serbia and Palestine (http://scrumalliance.org/articles/190-scrum-in-palestine). I am seeking someone in Nepal to partner with me on this non-commercial event. We would provide Scrum certification to up to 30 people for a symbolic registration fee, or perhaps at no cost. I need someone to attend to local arrangements (venue for the event, lodging and local travel for me, making copies of the course notes) and in general do what it would take to make the course happen. It is an opportunity to do some community service and perhaps to gain some exposure for you or your firm in your local market. If there is enough local interest and energy we could expand this into a larger event, such as a mini-conference. If you are interested, please write to me, and I can give you a few more details.
