Basically you need a linux live cd, which you can request in this group..If you have very good internet speed you can download an iso . Ubuntu is very widely used and very famous GNU/Linux distro. If you have any external drive you can easily copy the content of your D: drive with live CD. Otherwise you should install ubuntu without touching your D drive...
