Dear All,
FOSS Nepal has been doing a lot of FOSS advocacy and
implementation since its inception. But we feel that there needs some
momentum in s/w development side as well. As most of the community
members are aligned towards programming/development, we would like to
explore in this area too. Also that the development would support local
needs (customizations and localization). In order to initiate in this
direction, I would like to propose "Start-Up" sessions. The concept is
as below:

   1. To organize focussed weekly session on various techinical how-tos.
   2. The programme would be targeted at developing skills in the trainees.
   3. The programme, as the name suggests, would cater to create basic
      technical expertise.
   4. The programme would help at capacity building for the community
      members.
   5. The distant goal of this programme would be to create a pool of
people (might be divided into various SIGs, if the number is
large), so as to form a development concern inside the community.
   6. Also that the programme will host a platform for the community
      members to meet and socialize.

I'm currently trying to prepare a detailed project plan for this concept
and your suggestions are not only welcome but highly encouraged. As we
all know that it's a community effort and would be far from the
community spirit without the involvement and feedback from the community
members.

Thank You.
