Hi All,
The response has been amazing. In just 1 day we have 13 explorers and
9 guides signed up. We are going to cap the number of explorers at 20
(and also guides at 20) so please get in there and sign up fast.
The sign up form again is:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGxuemhLWkFNd2lUX2phcEdfQjM2aHc6MQ#gid=0
Please note: you HAVE TO HAVE a laptop on which you want to install
linux (or already have installed linux... or a linux simulator) to be
an explorer. We will try to provide a couple of laptops for you to
work on if you don;t have a laptop... but this is NOT guaranteed. So
if you don't have a laptop and need one please email me individually
by the end of this week, so that I can wrangle up one for you.

Hi All,
While we are waiting for our shiny new Raspberry Pi's to arrive we
are trying to rev up our Linux skill... so that we can actually do
cool stuff with the PI's when we they get here. Karkhana
(http://karkhana.asia/) and the Pi Bakers Group
(http://www.facebook.com/groups/piBakers/) is arranging an
installfest. It's a part skill development, part community
development exercise, as we are looking for both people who can
serve as guides and people are looking to explore linux (I have
been a windows only user most of my life and am in the latter group).
The event is completely free. We have a rough agenda and some
projects that will help with skill development... but the
guidelines are rough and we hope you will improvise, explore and
learn with in that format.
To make sure the event is beneficial to everyone involved we are
going to maintain a small ratio between guides and explorers. So
we need you to sign up http://goo.gl/ as either a guide or a
learner. If you are learner, you will receive a email confirming
you can attend after when we have found enough guides to work with
you. So if you have a friend who is decent with linux... encourage
them to sing up as a guide. If you are singing up as a guide,
AWESOME! Earn some good karma.
AND if you now you can't make it, please cancel ahead of time so
that we can fill your slot. Don't deprive someone else of a place.
A summary for those who don't like to read lots of words:
What? Linux Install Fest
Where? Karkhana in Gyneshwor, Kathmandu
(http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=27.7090859413147&mlon=85.3311109542847&zoom=16)
For Whom? Guides i.e. people with some linux skills
Explorers i.e. people who want some linux skills
When? Nov 10 from 10 AM to 1 PM
Cost? 0 Rupees. It's Free
Do I have to sign up? Yes! Absolutey! We will have bhoots, prets
and other such scary creatures checking you sign up status at the
door.

Hi all,
I was able to get my hands on the raspberry pi about a week back, able
to load a debian based image in a SD card, but since i don't have a HDMI
adapter not being able to connect to a display. If anyone could help me
on that day with a HDMI adapter it would be most appreciated.
