I guess, system /adsl router needs DNS/network reconfiguration. Set configuration to default, you could also try Google/open DNS, but ISP DNS server/settings are recommended.
Also Gnome Network manager might conflict with manual static configuration files. So make both default what observe if it's resolves. Hope this helps.
