Fossil developers,

I'm sure this has been discussed at some point in the past, but I would like to bring up again options for the Linux Fossil binary.

I've created a small build script:
http://www.rkeene.org/viewer/tmp/fossil-static-build/build-fossil-static.sh.htm

To build Fossil for Linux/x86_64 statically with OpenSSL or LibReSSL statically linked in. Another option would be to link in NSS (which I, and RedHat prefer) instead of OpenSSL/LibReSSL.

I'm not sure what is done for other platforms with regards to OpenSSL -- Windows and Mac OS X in particular.

The information regarding the built binary is here:
http://www.rkeene.org/viewer/tmp/fossil-static-build/fossil-1.30-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.info.htm

The log file of the build is here:
http://www.rkeene.org/viewer/tmp/fossil-static-build/fossil-1.30-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.log.htm

The binary itself is here:
http://www.rkeene.org/tmp/fossil-static-build/fossil-1.30-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl

Please provide feedback.

Thanks,
    Roy Keene
