Kees showed, providing:
a) Richard doesn't doesn't see it as feature bloat. (i also have
often sought the URL but couldn't see it until doing "fossil pull".)
b) we can agree on the command name. How about "fossil where"?
"fossil url"?
Your thoughts on (b)?
