After the the "Branches" item was added, there is some overlap in the main menu: "Leaves" and "Branches" are both different views of the same things. Perhaps the "Leaves" pages should be integrated in the Branches pages: - New users will already have an idea about what a branch is, and that idea will be usable with Fossil - All leaves belong to a branch, and most of the time a branch will have only one leaf, especially in the default autosync mode - The original "leaf" (check-in to be precise) of a branch defines the branch timeline view (a misnomer imho) Perhaps this is workable: - The "Branches" page is organised more or less as it is now - It gets a submenu "Leaves" that goes to the current Leaves page (the leaves pages get a submenu "Branches" added, so user can get back) - On the page, above "Open" and "Closed", "Trunk" gets a prominent place (and is perhaps duplicated in the "Open" list) - Each Branch line item gets a few links: * creole [tip][history][root] * trunk [tip][history][root][leaves] [leaves] would only appear when there is more than one leaf in the branch, and go to a page showing all leaves for a branch. Perhaps later it can offer a visual diff to assist a merge. [history] would show an overview of all check-ins for this branch. Perhaps this should be [timeline] instead of [history]. Release/milestone tags should perhaps be highlighted in this list. [tip] and [root] would go to the appropriate leaf page. I am not sure "timeline" in the Branches submenu is clear, especially because it is not the same as "Timeline" in the main menu. Perhaps it should be a line at the bottom of the page body saying: "Overview of branch root check-ins [show]" Just my 2c worth. Paul
