I've been marking my versions by tagging their release announcement
events with their respective version numbers, but I can't seem to update
to said version when I do this. By contrast, if I tag a commit with a
given version number, I can update to it.
Is this not a bug? I'd have expected my repository to be updated to that
point in the timeline, but either it's a bug or I'm misunderstanding
something.
