I've found the appropriate response finally:

1/ In most cases :

fossil pull
OR
fossil pull --user aFossilValidUser

2/ For those who own a server and do want to pull AND push :
fossil sync
OR
fossil sync --user aFossilValidUser

Note that, "fossil update -n" do nothing of course... :-)

changes to your checkout. Fwiw, I believe update with -n syncs as well.
