I'm using [fossil clean --ignore ""] exactly for this reason: start with a clean
build environment except for the fossil binary, without depending on the
makefile rules I didn't write ;-)

No special reason. I would prefer both to be big, but the second message
already existed and it is small now. It's not crucial to me how the
message looks like, but I think fossil should at least show something.
