I read this roughly (in fossil-speak) as: "I had a bunch of email notes from folks requesting I merge their feature-branches into my main branch, but my machine crashed and my mail isn't accessible…"
I think auto-sync wouldn't have saved anything, but perhaps the something like fossils built-in ticket system where communiqués are first-class objects could have helped, versus out-of-band email.
