Wasn't Veracity (http://veracity-scm.com/) inspired by most of the concepts in Fossil? They also use Fossil as their DB back-end, and IIRC, they were planning to make/sell add-ons that allow using other SQL DB's like PostgreSQL, etc. as the repo back-end.
