I'm having trouble with each commit taking about 45 seconds in a

Does this happen when committing a new file to the repo, or only
when changing an existing file? If only to existing files, does
commit time correlate with file size? That is, does a file 2x
larger take substantially longer to commit?
Changing existing files. I haven't added new files since the initial
commit.
Can you try adding a file, then, just to see if it behaves differently?
Also, is this purely a local repo or is it a local clone of a remote
repo with autosync turned on? If the latter, does most of the delay go
away when you turn off autosync?
