Here we  might need to  be careful about  terminology as well.  A single
round-trip  is  atomic,  but  a single  ``fossil  sync''  command  could
potentially  involve  multiple  round-trips,  some of  which  might  not
actually complete successfully, and  therefore a ``fossil sync'' command
might actually only be partially accepted.
