We don't typically do a real release schedule. What happens is normally
something like this abbreviated mailing list exchange:

person 1: the changelog is getting a big long. Release?
persons 2-N: Release.

Then we spend a couple days running it through the checklist:

and then Richard bundles up a few builds for the downloads pages and tags a
certain commit as the release.
