Some great ideas by Richard and very useful feature for large
repositories (like Matt and Andy have). Though I think his intended
goals are slightly different than what I was envisioning with "cheap
clone". But I don't see why I can't build on top of that. Anyway it's
too early to say anything concrete as release 2.1 is in far future.

Nice idea but requires a bit more definition.
Top priority atm is to get Lagerstätte in a "usable" state as a
front-end to Fossil repositories.
