Click on the details link next to the attachment. There is a Delete button there. All it does, really, is delete the link from the Wiki page to the artifact. The artifact does still exist and will be accessible via the artifact. So, in fact, you don't have to keep the attachment link in the Wiki page. You can just add the attachment, delete the link, and then add an img tag in your Wiki that points to the artifact.
