In this case, the documentation (https://www.fossil-scm.org/fossil/help?cmd=purge) consists of a series of examples, each followed by an explanation of what that example does. I do not know how to make the documentation any clearer. Contributions from others who do know how to make better documentation will be greatly appreciated. -- D.
