Let's keep in mind that flash drives are notoriously unreliable. They will wear out and fail suddenly and catastrophically. They are great for transferring information from one machine to another, but you should never keep valuable information only on a flash drive. Always assume that your flash drive will whip itself clean the next time you plug it in, and have a suitable recovery plan. -- D.
