At one time that was true.  But I think all of the precompiled
binaries on the site now have https enabled by default, don't that?
Have you tried the recent once?  I pretty sure the Windows binaries in
particular support https out of the box.

Uhm, no, I hadn't. I just downloaded the latest Windows executable and it came with https enabled.

Thanks! That's a great leap forward! In my opinion, there's now in my opinion nothing left that'd make Git superiour to Fossil unless you got a huge amount of contributors (according to the Fossil documentation), or a project spanning several gigabytes. I'll certainly pass this on.

But I won't let you off like that nonetheless. :)
Why hasn't this been announced properly, or have I overslept it? ;-)
