I rarely use Windows at all. I have two Windows laptops at hand. One is a two-year-old Lenovo Win10 machine. I see that I have a "MinGW Installer" icon on the desktop which I must have downloaded and used to get that machine set up, but I don't remember the details of how I did it. My other laptop is a much older Dell running Win7. That one is way too old to remember how I set up MinGW on. I have install MSYS on both machines too, so that I have familiar unix-style command-line tools. -- D.
