That would be an improvement as just in responding to this email I had to figure out how to get the new settings help because it wasn't obvious to me that the domain of settings help has now entered the same domain as subcommand help, but it still means that, one has to run a minimum of 2 commands. With the current state of settings help: 1) fossil settings (inspect settings list and pick one interesting) 2) fossil help <setting> Before, it was easier just to run: fossil help settings Then scroll up through the output, or use a $PAGER. Maybe a --verbose option to fossil help settings would make it so one can get all the information in a single request? Matt, what would you think is an improvement?
