I think both ChiselApp and Hydra are very nice, and technically solid projects (and I have learned how to use PHP's PDO::SQLite from the ChiselApp source code, so thanks for this, too). I'm sure I would use one of them (or even both), were it not that easy to run your own Fossil web server, even on cheap shared hosting systems. An important point to motivate people to use these services: is it possible to move existing projects there, or is it just possible to create new (empty) repositories? Also, when it comes to attracting people on the lookout for GitHub alternatives, I believe it's important to have a "landing page" (note the non-dinosaur slang) to show the occasional visitor a list of repositories with "real-world" projects under active maintenance, and with concise descriptions. At least on chiselapp.com, the "Public Repositories" page shows (on first impression) a list of "cryptic" repository and user names, and randomly clicking some links mostly leads to empty, abandoned or one-time-testing repositories. Such a "landing page" may need to be hand-crafted, but I think it's worth the effort to have occasional visitors stay on site, browse around, and get familiar with the capabilities of Fossil. --Florian _______________________________________________ fossil-users mailing list fossil-users@lists.fossil-scm.org http://lists.fossil-scm.org:8080/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fossil-users
