I've not worked on upgrade yet indeed. But there is a method to know if
we are in just a removal prcess or in an upgrade process, and act
accordingly.

Any hint on how to solve the postgresql connection ? (I take all
responsabilities for the fact  it's not working, as I don't know how
it's working ;-)
