Hi Joshua, We have never done the tests of changing or removing local fossy account, but all the process of create fossy account and change files chown done by the postinstall script /usr/lib/fossology/fo-postinstall, I suggest to update the fo-postintall script and rerun it again.

Has anyone ever gone through the process of doing a mass chown of all the fossology files, removing the local fossy account, and still having everything work? I did some searching in the configuration files and the only fossy group reference I could find was in /etc/fossology/fossology.conf under PROJECTGROUP. It wasn’t reassuring to see the note in the file that users should not change PROJECTGROUP after the install is complete. Thanks, Joshua
