Subject: Re: [FOSSology] regarding license text for BSD-style

Hi Kotrappa,
I'd like to add one thing to Raino's answer. In the soon to be released
(hopefully next couple of weeks) version 2.6.0, the license viewer will
highlight the snippets that nomos matches. So you will be able to see why
nomos thinks a license is what it says. This contribution is from our friends
at Siemens and TNGTech. They have also contributed a new license scanner
(monk) that complements nomos. While nomos looks for license signatures, monk
looks for full licenses (from the license_ref table). This way monk can give
you greater confidence in the license determination, but it only finds a small
subset of the licenses because full licenses are not given that often.

Thanks,
Bob Gobeille

Hi Kotrappa,
you cannot find BSD-style licenses. They are -style licenses because there is no
full match with the license text available in f.ex.
opensource.org<http://opensource.org/>. The only way
to get understanding how nomos detects BSD-style licenses is to take a look
in STRINGS.in file and parse.c if you are really interested.

Best regards
Raino

Hello Bob,

Where do I get license text for "BSD-style" and similar licenses.
I searched spdx.org<http://spdx.org/>, or opensourc.org<http://opensourc.org/>,
I could not find it.

Specifically I would like to see the license text for all the licenses listed
in 2.6.0
http://www.fossology.org/attachments/3963/license_list_2.6.0.txt

Is there single website which shows all license text?

Regards
Kotrappa.
