I found what the error was. Somehow the disc didn't get the power needed from the foxboard. When i provide external power to the disk i started to work!
On my laptop with ubuntu the disc just works fine (gets automatically mounted) so the power from the laptop is sufficient to power it.
However the problem is now solved.
