I wrote a shell script (and am in the process of rewriting all my shell
scripts to PERL programs) to do something similar with the older graphics
files (from display builder/display manager). I run it periodically and
print the result for an index of: 1) a list of all points referenced by any
given graphic file 2) a list of all graphic files referencing a given
point. This script uses d_edit50 to generate a dump of each file, and then
uses a series of grep, sed and awk commands to parse out the data point
references. I can post or email copies if anyone is interested. I realize
this is not quite the same as what you are looking for, we haven't switched
to Foxdraw yet.

Subject: Converting *.fdf files to *.g format
I know you can convert fdf files to ASCII format (*.g files) in Foxdraw. Is
there a utility that will allow you to convert many files in batch mode?
What I am trying to do is that given a process data point, I want to find
out quickly on which graphics, if at all, this data point is configured.
One way of doing this is to convert all the display files to ASCII format
and then (hopefully) extract all the configured data points in the ascii
file so that a database can be built. Has anybody done similar things or
has a better solution?
