Robert,
Your situation sounds familiar.
We have 2 "stand alone" (non-FT) INT30 and one INT15. All 3 are used as
Modbus gateways.
We have been working on commissioning one of the 30's on a new PLC.
During the development and communications work I have continually had to do
the same type things that you said in your note to get them talking again.
My steps were usually: 1- open Sys Mon, go to "Config" then "Equip Chg" for
the module in question.
2- take the FBM 0 block off line, then the MOD PC block off line.
3- change the FBM 0 block to "B-Disable" then back to "A-Disable" (we use
single channel "A")
4- Go back online with both and "tada" it works again.
Here is the kicker:
I swapped the INT30 code into to the INT15 for a test (last week).
The INT15 has NOT dropped out once. It works fine.

Interesting facts:
We are at version 6.2 on our I/A software.
Our CP40FTs and our INT15 show software version 6.1.1 in the station block.
BUT: our INT30's say 4.2.2

Is 4.2.2 the last revision to the INT30 opsys? I imagine so.
We have never found a cause or common symptom for the crashes.
We just attributed it to our communications testing.
But my modbus comm is clicking along very nicely in an INT15 now.

I just thought I'd tell you of a common experience.
Sorry I couldn't provide a solution (other than distributing the work to
INT15s)

Subject: AB Integrator 30's

We have 3 sets of fault tolerant integator30' and one single in the same
equipment cabinet.
Once or twice a year they just stop communicating, typically all of the
above at the same time. The screens Smurf and the operators go blind.
I can bring them back on line:
1: by going to the ICC
2: to the primary ecb for the integrator
3:Change the NRBUS from 2 to 1, accept it
4: Change the NRBUS back to original selection
Have any of the other Integrator uses ran into this problem? Also have you
ever found out what causes the event to occur, there by making it an event
that can be "fixed".
