Did I add a profile? I put information and photos on my listing... is that the profile? If so... no technical assistance was required!!
I haven't had Marisa's success, BUT I have been contacted by people in Alberta who saw my listing on FPBAA...although they were in Edmonton or Calgary and therefore way too far away for a regular gig. But, it does generate hits for sure. The search on the membership directory works well as you can put in a name, location by city or state/ province, etc. and it searches every word in the directory for matches. I would be willing to pay for membership... for the directory listing alone that would be acceptable. If the magazine was thrown into the mix, then the fee would be greater to cover that cost, but would be worth it. I think that having one membership category only though is the way to go... don't make it different levels as that adds administration to your end. People could subscribe to the magazine without being members, but all members have it included. (To compare it to FACE... their membership includes their online membership directory, the quarterly magazine, a t-shirt, a keychain, a pocket mirror ... and liability insurance if you are UK based and you have to pass the certification exam in order to qualify for membership, but that's a whole other issue!) So short answer is yes, I would be willing to pay for membership.
