CC, First off, welcome to the world of face painting! You're sure to find many great resources to help you grow and flourish!
As far as the contests go, believe it or not, most people (I can't say ALL) will vote for the artwork. People that have never entered have won. People that are new to face painting have won. If you look through the sites, you'll see that many, many different artists at different skill levels have taken a place - sometimes more than once! I have seen many a new painter outshine a master painter in different contests! Cheers, Kristi Darby Pigment Pie Face Painting, Henna, Glitter Tattoos, and Loopy Locks! "Everybody likes pie... One note about this Storybook contest. I know snaz generally posts artists sites alongside their entries, it is the nature of their galleries, but it has never seemed that fair for "contests" if you ask me! - don't you think it would be alot more "fair" for people who wish to enter this contest if their NAMES were not posted with the artwork - so they could be judged solely on the merit of their work as opposed to people knowing WHO they are voting for? Just a thought, seems like a more fair ART contest that way and less like a popularity contest! >From CC, a face painter-in the making and fan! (no website yet!) Think of all the storybook characters, Wizard of Oz, 3 Little Pics, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, witches, Queens, Princesses, Kings, pirates, fairies, monsters, frogs, wolves., all kinds of animals........the list goes on and on and on. Use your imaginations! Think about what would make a great cover, close up and angle wise. You idea does not have to encompass the entire theme, just a character representing that theme.(be sure you have the pic available in 450KB resolution or I will not be able to use it for the cover. > > Good Luck! > > Sincerely, > Cynthia Keeler, Editor FPBA Magazinewww.fpbamagazine.com > > ***** January 4-8-FPBA Convention & preclasses are now available****www.fpbaconvention.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Face Painting and Body Art Association."
