Actually it is fairly easy to include the artists' info and links while creating the pages, but not have them visible until after the contest ends. I used to do this all the time when entries in my own online directory would expire. I'd just make them "disappear" with a single character in the HTML, and when they renewed, all I had to do was remove that character and the entry reappeared, and I didn't have to keep track of anything in the interim.
I would tend to agree that a truly "fair" contest is a blind one; however, as has been said, it would be just one more step in an already uncompensated service.
