Several folks have e-mailed me directly with some concerns for me, since they saw Arla's convention post a day or so ago. Let me just say, luckily for me, since the very first Convention in 2002, I have never ended up in the "red" producing this event. (Knock on wood!;o) But it would be VERY easy to do so, if you don't keep a close eye on your pennies AT ALL TIMES!. It is true, that sometimes up until the last minute, some things you cannot control do not come into fruition,( like sleeping rooms nights being filled to "pay your ballroom rental", other snafu's.) One has to keep in mind that the hotel contracts, Convention needs and financial liabilities, are anticipated and contracted for, a year in advance of the event..................... BEFORE our recession and shaky economy slowed everyone down for this year. But fortunately for me, it all worked out in the 11th hour, and always has. So, it's all good! ;o)
However, due to some ongoing personal and family health circumstances, I am choosing to take a break from the FPBA community and to pass the baton to others to take the lead. As I have mentioned previously, Karen Owens, (with the help of her family and contacts that reside in Vegas) will be hosting the FPBAC in Las Vegas in 2010. I have alot of faith that she will take the FPBAC and "kick it up a notch!". Please support her as she full fills one of her personal goals, to host and grow this Convention. Hope to see you there! Several folks have also asked me about being an instructor or a vendor in 2010. Please contact Karen directly at [email protected]. She will be happy to add you to the list! Also, if you would like to be considered as an instructor or have various instructors in mind, that you would love to see as staff, please let her know that as well. Viva Las Vegas, Baby 2010!
