You can use any sponge and any brush.... CLEAN of course.  Wash before
you use when you buy new.  Don't use brushes or sponges that you have
used for other purposes (like acrylic or craft painting.)

Car wash sponges cut up, tack sponges, soft foam dish sponges (these
are a little too flimsy), etc. are all fine.

I use lots of artists brushes in various sizes and shapes... I like #4
& #6 round sables the best.
