I'd say DON'T get cosmetic sponges, most are totally the wrong type of thing for most face-paints - theres a bunch I work with in HK who KEEP 'losing' the Snaz sponges I got and replacing them with cosmetic sponges as that's what the make-up schools/ shops (that also sell face paint) tell them to use. Wrong! You can easily spot when they use the cosmetic ones, the paint is really patchy & smeared and their hands are covered in it.
My faves are Snaz sponges or Fantasy World Wide sponges which are a little stiffer, both are round so I cut in 1/2. Brushes I mainly buy artists brushes, a big range of them as my faves there change and different brands are good for different things. just make sure the bristles have a good point on rounds or a neat straight edge on flats and don't stick out all over the place, everyone has ones they like best... If you can get to a jam or somthing that's best as you see what people use how and can (gasp!) ask to touch them if the painters don't growl too mkuch... cat x --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Face Painting and Body Art Association."
