Definitely do the buy-back. To be pragmatic you got your name out there and received all the exposure you could by donating the item, so, if it doesn't sell for at least the value of it why not buy it back? You are still giving them the value as a donation... so it is win-win. And you don't have to do the party for a cut-rate!
