Funny I was just replying to Apryl off list about this.....

It depends on the 'deal' struck with Olivier as to what the focus is
re paint.....I retail Fardel, & have worked with Olivier for about 6
yrs, so he does not push FWW at the classes I organise with him, so
the students use their own kit & have the opportunity to play with the
creams if they wish.

It is really your choice as to whether you learn with just the
creams....they are great to try, but unless you are planning a full
rethink of your kit, then learn to use YOUR kit!!! However as a creams
user I found when going back to cakes (I teach with them) that
blending was much easier than before....as it's about lightness of
touch & the expectation of the paint blending....It WILL blend:-)!!

Lots of people I know use their cakes for base work & fluids for line
work, I am quite unusual as I use all creams for bases...I do have a
rainbow pallet or 2 though:-)

Olivier IS a brilliant teacher as he encourages you to find yourself &
YOUR style, & is always positive in his comments about your work.

The crit session, he feels is one of the most important parts of the
workshops & playing the game, as you can learn to look & thin about
the work.
