Is this really necessary ? FireMonkey is a rebranded open source
library, so it should be possible just to _use_ it.
OTOH, (I don't have XE2): does XE2 come with (or did E. announce) a
visual Designer for FireMonkey (if such thing is even possible) ? In
this case Lazarus might be willing to invest work on something like that.
AFAIK XE2 contains a visual designer. And in theory it should be
possible to extend Lazarus with a designer by implementing a non
LCL-designer (Lazarus contains code for something like that, though I've
never tested it yet...).
Also one of the Embarcadero/Delphi developers said that they intend to
keep FireMonkey compatible with FPC and in some time provide it again
(no specifics for timeframe and possible costs given though).
