Mailing lists work much better for development in my experience. Also, this project is a low-level component which will have much less relevance for users once we have achieved decent platform integration. For these reasons I don't really have any interest in a forum, but I'm open to ideas and I guess it might be useful for some people. So, feel free to set one up, and if it turns out to be a good resource, perhaps we can make it official. > An IRC channel at freenode, for example, would be good for > intrerdevelopement co-operation. Good idea - please do set one up. I probably will not spend much time there, as IRC is distracting enough for me already, however I do like this idea. > About the logo, I've made an SVG file with a fingerprint and been doing > some work on it. I don't really mind about publicity as this is not a user-oriented project (instead the desktop environments will provide the user interfaces when the project has matured further). I also quite like the way the name can be viewed as a play on printf(). However I'll happily consider new name suggestions :) > I will shortly begin to port the drivers to Windows operative systems so > users that are more used to Windows programming can help on development too. Great! Please read the recent thread about fpusb. The current development version of libfprint will not be portable to windows until fpusb is ported there. I am happy to do what I can to help the fpusb porting effort, but I do need a knowledgeable windows developer to do the bulk of the work. Thanks for your ideas & enthusiasm!
