It will be a new API, new library filename, new header filename, etc. It will be possible to install libusb-1.0 and libusb-0.1 alongside each other. I will also develop a "libusb01compat" package, which will provide the libusb-0.1 header file, library with same name, etc, but internally it will just translate libusb-0.1 calls into their 1.0 equivalents.
