It's not that we don't plan to work on it, it's just that we are currently at a dead end. See http://www.reactivated.net/fprint/wiki/Unsupported_devices#AuthenTec_AES2550_.26_AES2810 > 1. Can I do this without windows since it's a major pain to reinstall it? There are 3 options: 1. Obtain technical documentation from authentec and write a driver from that info. (does not require windows, but is unlikely to happen) 2. Perform chinese-wall reverse engineering on an authentec driver. Does not require windows for the person who writes the resulting fprint driver. But this is extremely time consuming and requires 2 people. 3. Figure it out through bus traffic analysis and experimentation (this is how all of the fprint drivers have been created). This requires you to run the device under a configuration where it works, so windows is probably your only option. > 2. The 3rd option is introduced here: http://www.reactivated.net/weblog/archives/2005/08/reverse-engineering/ Daniel _______________________________________________ fprint mailing list [email protected] http://lists.reactivated.net/mailman/listinfo/fprint
