Last night the Planning Board voted on whether to go forward to introduce a new Scenic Road Bylaw at the upcoming Town Meeting. Framingham is currently sans such a bylaw and this will be A Very Good Thing. The vote ended up 4 to 1 in favor of going forward with the bylaw. Actually it was more like 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. Larry Marsh opposed the bylaw because he felt that it was too verbose for what it was trying to accomplish. The Chair, Helen Lemoine, also felt it was a bit heavy but had expressed a long-term need for the bylaw and so voted in favor of it.
This is good work and very badly needed. If this had been in place at the time that Wayside Circle had been started, we would *never* have had the problems that we did. Future damage to Scenic Roads will be greatly mitigated or totally prevented through this. This will be very welcome and I hope to support this at the Town Meeting. -- -Time flies like the wind.
