Hi folks:

The FIMBY (Framingham Is My Back Yard) board voted to conduct a candidates'
night in conjunction with one of its confederated organizations, the Downtown
Safety Association, on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at the Portuguese Club,
beginning at 7:30PM. The Club is located at 67 South Street in the heart of
downtown Framingham. There is ample parking in a fenced in lot immediately
behind the club. Directions will be provided in a follow-up e-mail. It has a
capacity for 120, and light refreshments will be served.

All candidates participating in the elections for selectmen, moderator (Town
Meeting), planning board, and the school committee are invited to present
their views on key issues. The candidates will also be contacted by phone,
fax or e-mail.

This site was particularly picked to continue to involve the south side in the
political process and to recruit residents in the area to become town meeting
members as well as vie for other offices and boards. It follows the success
of a meeting on important neighborhood issues held at the club last spring,
which drew a very large townwide audience.

This current meeting should provide candidates with virtually their last
public opportunity to sum up their positions before the April 1st election.
More details will be provided. Your attendance and participation will be
sincerely appreciated.
