This afternoon I was walking home from Henry's Hill and ran into Chris Kotsiopolous over at the entrance to Wayside Circle. He and I talked for a few minutes and I would have to characterize the conversation as cordial and civilized.
The current situation (as I understand it) is that all of the components of the contract regarding the Wall have to be completed by end of business this Thursday. The Great Wall was lowered and the survey work was completed to show that the Wall is no higher than 506 feet above sea level. (The total height of the Wall by my estimate is a total of 15 feet but earth was placed at its base so that only six feet is visible above ground.) Chris has apparently decided to remove the entire wall instead of adding the second architectural wall agreed to in the contract with the Town. He wants this done by Thursday. The following message from Kathy Vassar asks most of the questions that this new information begs. In addition, I have one more question which will also need to be answered: What will happen to the section of the Wall which is below grade (which I claim is eleven feet deep)? As for the questions from Kathy below, I am probably most concerned with the last one. We may now go off and speculate why this strategy is suddenly being persued. My answer is: Who cares? As long as it's being done properly and according to the regulations.
