We create a .mif file by saving from FM, then gut it in a text editor so that it only has the user variables we want to change. That removes the system variables, so you can import into all files in the book. Works beautifully.
For example, to just change the variable called BookName, the mif file has this stuff: <MIFFile 7.00> <VariableFormats <VariableFormat <VariableName `BookName'> <VariableDef `Rapier i Switch Software Reference'> > # end of VariableFormat > # end of VariableFormats # End of MIFFile Cheers, Rebecca >>> Steve Rickaby <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 17/11/05 06:02:20 >>> At 10:51 am -0600 16/11/05, Peter Gold wrote: >You can use Find > Variable of Name, Replace >By Pasting > Look in > Book. >You'll need to run once for each variable. In fact the variable that's giving me hassles occurs only on the master pages: it's a document version number. I forgot to mention that. -- Steve -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archives: http://lists.frameusers.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?visit=framers Website: http://www.FrameUsers.com Administration: [EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed to framers as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to unsubscribe.
