Hi Bod!! Nice to see you again at the Chautaugua!
I agree, since my interest was also languages that you can produce in Frame I talked to the Adobe rep from India about the possibility of going to Unicode. It looks to me like Adobe is looking at adding additional functionality to FrameMaker. Hopefully this was not just smoke and mirrors just for our benefit. Frame is just one of the applications that I use in my business. Frame is my FAVORITE applications since I have been using it for over 13 years and know if quite well. We will just have to wait and see what happens from now. I use FrameMaker on Windows and Mac. Life never sits still. There are many applications that I used in the past that I do not use anymore because better one have come along. Adobe sent 5 (five) representatives to the Chautauqua. 2. These showed active interest in the topics, which could be seen from their questions to the speakers (at least me), and some personal talk. 3. I have to agree, though that Adobe has NOT BEEN understanding FrameMaker nor its power in publishing. This also was made clear in some of the presentations on Adobe's behalf. Maybe I am too optimistic, but I had my hopes raised. 4. All this convinced me that these reps will indeed get the message to the Adobe top management. And Adobe's sending 5 reps IMHO means that they are at least considering repenting. Of course we are not "there" yet, but we should keep the fight going. Sad you are leaving. I'll be sticking around. Still have a lot to learn from the list. 'Nuff said.
