Beginning yesterday in the afternoon when an object was selected for
movement, its trajectory to the intended position was stuttered/bounced
in about 6pt increments.
It sounds like you have inadvertently enabled Snap (on the Graphics
menu), which causes objects to align with the Grid (which you have
likely not made visible from the View > Options menu).
