Yes, you are right with InDesign. I'm using it too. My workflow is all around Frame though and I'm having to cope it somehow. Ever so often I have certain objects that have to be scaled and placed based on their look, not "digital" size and that is where guides come handy. I set off on a small project now to create a script that would handle these guides in FM. If someone is interested - I'm open to suggestions. Michael P.S. this one should reach the list ;-). For a visual reference, I think drawing lines on the master page would work best, but you'd have to delete them before printing. I just don't see the need for a visual reference. You can align objects and accurately set their position on a page. It sounds like you might need a true page layout tool such as InDesign.
