Yes, you are right with InDesign. I'm using it too. My workflow is all around
Frame though and I'm having to cope it somehow. Ever so often I have certain
objects that have to be scaled and placed based on their look, not "digital"
size and that is where guides come handy. I set off on a small project now to
create a script that would handle these guides in FM. If someone is interested
- I'm open to suggestions.

P.S. this one should reach the list ;-). Thanks for noticing it.

Hi Michael,

I don't think you replied to the whole list with this.

For a visual reference, I think drawing lines on the master page would work
best, but you'd have to delete them before printing.

I just don't see the need for a visual reference. You can align objects and
accurately set their position on a page. It sounds like you might need a true
page layout tool such as InDesign.

Thank you Glenn and all who answered,I appreciate that. My question actually
was: Is there an on-screen utility that makes these guides. I don't care so
much whether it is interacting with Frame or not. I need somewhat a visual
guide rather than interactive/snap-on guides.Hope this makes the search a bit
narrower. Michael
