ExtendScript's documentation, at least for FrameMaker, has gaping holes. There's the most basic documentation of the UI and painfully low-level documentation of the objects. The examples are not very real-world and focus more on extending the application than on automating common tasks where automation would be helpful.
If they haven't moved them, the examples (.jsx files) are in the Scripts directory under the application.
